Headings are document lines that have a letter size different from the rest of the text, with the purpose of identifying the start of a section or topic. There are six sizes, or levels, of headings. The <Hn> command has the following syntax :
<Hn>Heading text</Hn>
Where "n" should be replaced by a number from 1 to 6. The largest heading is specified with the H1 command, and the smallest with H6.
Open the Examp01.htm file. Its source code is listed below :
<h1>Level 1 Header</h1>
<h2>Level 2 Header</h2>
<h3>Level 3 Header</h3>
<h4>Level 4 Header</h4>
<h5>Level 5 Header</h5>
<h6>Level 6 Header</h6>
<hr>
<h1>The header</h1><h2>command</h2><h3>Always display a line</h3><h4>advance before displaying the content</h4><h5>specified between the</h5><h6>open and close header commands</h6>
The results of these commands are seen in the next figure.
You can see from the example that the <Hn> command inserts a blank line after the heading text. The horizontal line is created with the <HR> command.
There are other ways of creating lines of text with different sizes and types of letters. However, the heading commands are the quickest way of achieving this effect.
As you can see the header command is very simple.
